Dr. Smith is a postdoctoral research fellow working with Sam Myers at the Harvard School of Public Health. His research focuses on the impact of global environmental changes (e.g., rising CO2, pollinator loss, overfishing) on diet, nutrition, and health. Toward that effort, he has constructed the Global Expanded Nutrient Supply (GENuS) model, providing a novel dataset to estimate the nutrient supplies derived from all foods in the diet worldwide. Dr. Smith received his Ph.D. in 2012 from the University of Washington in the Department of Earth and Space Sciences.
