Benjamin Rice is a PhD candidate in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University where he is co-advised by Dan Hartl and Christopher Golden of the Planetary Health Alliance. His research focuses on the ecology and evolution of the Plasmodiumparasites that cause malaria, using genetic data and cohort and cross-sectional studies of communities in rural and remote areas of Madagascar to explore questions about transmission dynamics and their drivers.
