Fanny Demassieux is the coordinator of the Resource efficiency subprogramme which is one of the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) 6 priority work areas and is also leading the Responsible Consumption unit in the Sustainable Consumption and Production branch of its Division of Technology, Industry and Economics, based in Paris. The Responsible Consumption unit is covering the issues of sustainable public procurement, education for sustainable consumption and lifestyles, food as well as product sustainability information. Before joining UNEP 7 years ago, she worked for the French Development Agency (AFD), the bilateral French donor institution, in charge of partnerships, regional cooperation and European affairs within the French overseas territories directorate. She started her career as advisor, deputy chef de cabinet for the French State Secretary for overseas territories.
